Pick A Gift & I'll Tell You How to Decorate For Christmas

With Christmas fast approaching, it's time to start thinking about holiday decor! Now, not everyone is interested in home decor or, more specifically, holiday decor, but it can be a very fun way to express your style while celebrating the season.



This post was a little inspired by those crazy BuzzFeed quizzes that make absolutely no sense like "Pick a Starburst and I'll tell you what you should do with your life".

Those are entertaining quizzes, but they do show how completely bogus a quiz can be. I thought it would be funny to incorporate that here in this blog post.

There are SO many ways to decorate for Christmas and I have definitely only mentioned a few. By now you know I'm not too much of a colour person so please forgive me if you're desperate for colour. Pinterest has a lot of ideas for you!

I've said before & I'll say it again, your home should be a place full of things you love, people you love and it should evoke feelings of comfort, safety and peace. Pick colours and textures that speak to you and make you feel the emotions you want to feel in your house. Some people prefer a cool palette, going for blues, metals and whites...others like a warm colour scheme and pick rich reds and golds!

Tap into your inner artist and go as little or as all out as you want this Christmas! Now, onto the fun part!

Number One

If you chose number 1, you like neutrals, clean lines and luxurious textures. This is a relatively easy Christmas decor theme (great for budgets!) because you can reuse everyday elements from your home, plus selective Christmas decorations to give a holiday feel. 

This theme is also great if a) you want to be able to reuse your Christmas ornaments and not get sick of them, b) you have other colours in your home that would clash with the traditional red and green. 

Pretty well all of these items can be found at Target, but I encourage you to shop around for the best deal.

Number Two

If you chose number 2, you also like neutral decor, but without all that glitzy stuff. Cool tones are your best friend and you love the clean, untouched look that crisp grey and white gives. You're not completely cold-hearted, though, and love the balance that natural fibres bring to this colour palette. 

This style is not for the faint of heart, the minimalist look is not the easiest to achieve!

Number Three

All my girly girls, this is for you. A soft and beautiful colour combination, this palette utilizes both warm and cool tones to give a cozy, wintery balance. Think soft pinks, champagnes, taupes, pearly whites and glittery silvers. Your theme can be as glam or as muted as you want! Don't forget to incorporate nature's beauty with tree garlands or pinecones.

Number Four

This is the fun one, my friends. If you picked number four, you love the classic Christmas. Your ideal decor incorporates traditional colours, albeit a little more muted than what you see in the store. Woodsy and cozy, you love this holiday for its charm and wonder!
